︎ Claire Sagan

Claire Sagan is Assistant Professor in Political Theory in the Department of Political Science at Vassar College, NY. Her work focuses on temporality, ecology, and technoscience. She is currently finishing her first book, Uchronia and Beyond, where she problematizes the (collapsing) hegemonic capitalist timescape as what she calls "uchronia": a non-time (ou-chronos) that fetishizes an ideal or good time (eu-chronos) always postponed to the detriment of more-than-human lived past, present and futures. She also works on Nietzsche's concept of eternal return in the context of the present planetary eco-catastrophes as well as the rise of fossil and eco-fascisms.
