︎ Hanno Pahl


Dr. habil. Hanno Pahl studied sociology at the University of Bremen (1996-2001) and did his PhD at the University of Bielefeld (2002-2007). Since then he has worked at various Universities in Germany (Jena, Bonn, Munich) and in Switzerland (Zurich, Lucerne). He is currently a member of the research group “Society after Money – A Simulation” (funded by the Volkswagen Foundation) whose goal is to explore post-capitalist trajectories of commons/commoning via agent based modeling. Since 2013 Hanno Pahl functions as research area coordinator for economic sociology of EAEPE (European Association for Evolutionary Political Economy). His research focuses on the history and sociology of money, the history and sociology of knowledge in economics, and on socio-cultural evolution in general.
